Suspension Engineering Mountain Race Shop™ Tools

Engineering-backed suspension tuning — proven on track, validated by data.

Stop guessing.
Measure pressure, adjuster authority & damping targets from real dyno force.

The Pressure Balance & Adjuster Authority Tool turns dyno force into meaningful suspension pressure values, shows what your clickers are really doing, and helps you build confident setups faster — with fewer track-side “hope-and-pray” changes.

Built for KYB, Showa, WP, Öhlins, K-Tech, Sachs and more. Workshop-ready outputs for customers and racers.
Force → Pressure Use real areas (rod / piston / effective) to translate dyno force into pressure.
Adjuster Authority Quantify what % of total force is coming from adjuster-controlled flow.
Targets & Bands See where your setup lands vs your chosen target band across velocities.
Compare & Export Compare compression vs rebound and export results for records & customers.
Why this matters: Suspension is a force device. Force = Area × Pressure. If you know force (dyno) and you know the correct effective area, you can calculate pressure and finally compare setups apples-to-apples.

What you’ll get out of it

  • Pressure values at multiple velocities so you can see what the system is doing — not just the force curve.
  • Adjuster authority % so you know whether clickers are meaningful or basically dead.
  • Better direction when deciding: shim stack change vs bleed/needle change vs oil/geometry change.
  • Cleaner communication with riders/customers: “here’s what changed and why.”

User Guide (what data you need)

The complete guide lives on the User Guide page, including what the readings mean and how to interpret them.

  • Dyno force data at multiple velocities (e.g. 0.1, 1.0, 2.5 m/s) for:
    • Adjuster-only force (bleed/needle influence)
    • Total force (adjuster + shim stack)
  • Geometry: rod diameter (or adjuster-area proxy), piston/body diameter (main area), baseline pressure (if known)
  • Reference velocity (used for scaling/normalising targets)
  • Optional: notes on oil, temperature, test configuration, and stack/bleed configuration
